About The Festival

A family friendly festival with a unique twist - celebrating mermaids and their history within the area.  Located at 6300 Shoal Line Blvd. Spring Hill Florida March 16th and 17th 11am to 6pm Both days (Come early as parking is limited to the first 1000) Remote parking is at  Sand Hill Reservation 11210 Cortez Blvd, Brooksville, FL 34613  Remote parking is 1 dollar and the Shuttle is 1 dollar with a free raffle ticket. Parking benefits the Boy Scouts.

This event has been designed to help our families, businesses and community relax into Spring Break. Located on the Adventure Coast in beautiful Hernando County. With its waterways, boating, fishing & trails, Linda Pedersen Park is the perfect venue.

This two day festival aims to please - we have a huge kids play area, a staggering array of food vendors, quality craft vendors, live bands, Dragon Boats, kayak race competitions and a mermaid contest. Celebrating community and business with festival profits donated to Friends of Hernando Parks & Recreation, a 501(c)(3). festivals events current events

Mermaid Costume Contest Make a Splash!

The Catch (AKA "RULes" Mermaids never use that word "Rules")

Pre-registration needed.

Three age divisions:

0 to 5 years at 2pm (hatchlings)

6 to 12 years at 330pm  (Small Fry)

12 to 112 years 415pm  (Big Fish)

All costumes must be appropriate with full coverage – be creative but please be modest! (Small Fry are watching)

1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes for male and female winners. Contest is both days and winners announced at 5:30 pm Sunday March 17th, (wanna dress up twice-enter twice)

Magic Walking Feet are a must, no natural tail.

No Swimmers allowed. there is a boat competition during the event .

The Neptune 5k Kayak race - The Adventure Coast Challenge

 Single Competition $35 includes a uniform Kayak (no private owned kayaks allowed ) This guarantees a level playing field. No exceptions.

Bring a friend

Doubles competition is $50 for both competitors. This will include a double occupancy kayak (also, no private owned kayaks with no exceptions).

Come have Fun All day Long

The Races start at 11am with single competitions ending at 2pm . Doubles from 2:30 pm to 5pm. All boats must be off the water by 5:30 pm.
